Hello lovely friends.
Firstly, I want to apologise that this ‘between the moons’ offering is so late. I realise that it only just avoids bumping into the Bracken & Wrack full moon newsletter in a couple of days’ time! Sometimes life gets in the way, but I really hope you won’t mind just once.
I’ve been thinking for a while that our little community might be a good place to share an essay that I wrote last year about blackberry picking. When it dawned on me that Michaelmas was fast approaching, which in folklore signals the end of the blackberry picking season, I decided that it was now or never. Rather like the blackberries, if I waited any longer its moment would have passed.
It’s a bit longer than other writings I’ve put on here, so make yourself a lovely hot drink and without further ado let’s get started. It’s called, simply, The Blackberry Picker.
