Hello lovely friends.
Welcome to this ‘between the moons’ missive.
This time I thought I would show you not one, but seven of my most treasured possessions, or at least I should say objects of enchantment of whom I am the current guardian. I was wondering what I would write to you about, and suddenly remembered that despite having posted individual photos of each one of these special things on Instagram over the course of a couple of years, I’ve never strung them all together into a sort of magical charm bracelet.
And now is that moment. I’m excited!
So, let’s begin by setting the scene, about as far from Norfolk (well, within the UK) as you can imagine.
Each year until my husband became too ill we would follow the silvery thread that connected our home in Norfolk with the far west of Cornwall. His ancestry was Cornish, and several of my favourite childhood books were set there, so the pull was strong. Although Trevor’s immediate family had come from Falmouth we increasingly found ourselves spending time in Penwith in the far west. We revelled in its ancient stone circles and chambered tombs nestled on the heathland, and loved walking the serpentine coastal path as it wound its way around each headland and cove.
