Arriving at the sea, 18 April 2024.

Hello, and welcome back to our little pause ‘between the moons’.

This time, I thought I would just say a little about the joys of spontaneity. Now, this concept is something I must admit I find myself having to work on sometimes. It’s so easy to talk yourself out of a half-hour activity that has the potential to bring a new discovery or at least a little joy into your day. Of course, there are always 101 other things that are more pressing and ought to come first. Indeed, often that’s absolutely the case and there’s nothing that can be done about it.

But the times I am thinking of are those times when you reach a pivotal moment - and it happens to me quite a lot - when either you could faff around for another 10 minutes and then talk yourself out of some little ad hoc bit of fun as there’s genuinely no longer time for it, or just grab what you need to take (if anything) and just do the thing.

Such was the situation last Thursday.
