This was lovely to read, with such a lot of interesting history and ancient customs of people and their relationships with the natural world. Thank you.

Thank you Cornelia. The more I looked into just those two topics, The Nameless Day and Mistletoe, the more I realised how much there was to uncover and how many layers are involved. I know it’s quite long, more so than I’d have liked, really, but there was plenty more that I left out! Definitely a rich seam and a mysterious one too.

Thank you Mary. It was one of those things that I embarked on and then more and more began to reveal itself and it was hard to know where to stop. Your kind comments mean such a lot.

I’m still reading back to all the winter posts. Even though it’s not Christmas, I do celebrate the solstice & old solstice too now. The cake will be made for then! Thankyou Imogen. How I wish I had bought a birch track candle!! 🕯️

Thank you that was simply fascinating. I am so glad I waited until I had the time to appreciate your work. The weaving of history and descriptive text and poems and gorgeous photos are so enjoyable

I really enjoyed the link to the history of placing mistletoe in the Cathedral.

Many thanks and New Year blessings from the prairies, we have been blessed with beautiful hoarfrost the past few days lovely in sunlight or evening shade.
